South China : YIU LIAN Dockyards, Hong Kong & Shekou

Founded in 1964 in Hong Kong, Yiu Lian Dockyards Ltd benefits from a privileged location in the immediate vicinity of Hong Kong, on the island of Tsing Yi.

Yiu Lian Dockyards (Shekou) Ltd was founded in 1989 in Shekou, a part of Shenzhen, close to Hong Kong.

Both shipyards are today subsidiaries of CMIH Group (China Merchants Industry Holdings Co. Ltd)

In order to develop the shipyard, CMIH Group carried out a very important investment by creating a new shipyard on the artificial Mahzou island : This new shipyard Yiu Lian Dockyards (Shekou) is active since 2007 and accumulated since then an impressive list of references.

Its two drydocks of VLCC and ULCC format and its fast development make of it an essential shipyard for the large ships, in particular the VLCC, representing a very attractive alternative to the shipyards of the Gulf and Singapore areas.

The facilities of these shipyards are as follows :

Yiu Lian Dockyards Ltd (Hong Kong) :

  • A floating dock of 190 m x 26,8 m (N° 1)
  • A floating dock of 305 m x 45,8 m (N° 3)

Yiu Lian Dockyards (Shekou) Ltd :

  • A drydock of 400 m x 83 m
  • A drydock of 360 m x 67 m
  • A floating dock of 250 m x 36 m
  • A floating dock of 200 m x 32 m
